Every time I was with my parents on the trip out in the country or just sitting around the fire right beside our summer cottage, they have prepared baked potatoes right in the fire's embers. The recipe is very simple. Just put potatoes under the embers. Note that they have to be covered. Wait. When they are ready, just half them garnish with butter and salt. Eat them. You do not need to peel them. If your fire was made of wood and you did not throw some garbage in it, it is all right. The taste of such baked potatoes is divine.
However, most of us do not have a fireplace in our cribs, even if there are some opportunities to try this simple recipe at camping site. Thus, I made some research with my friends and enhance this simple, rural piece of Slovak Cuisine little bit. This invention is based on former recipe, however fire embers were replaced by oven and we used more garnishing. We usually prepare this meal for parties, because it is simple and fast serving. It does not take all of your attention, and you can take a good chat with your guests.

Let's rock. Rinse potatoes and halve them. Take a tin-plate and put some oil with all potatoes halves in one row with skin down. Season with salt and caraway seeds. Put it in the oven and bake until soft. Time of baking depends on type of potatoes, usually it is more the 1 hour. When potatoes getting ready cover them by bacon rashers and put them back into oven until bacon is done. While the bacon is in oven, peel and mash garlic's claws. Afterwards, mix garlic with sour cream. Chop onion tops or chives roughly. Take potatoes with bacon out of the oven and serve.
How to serve? On each plate, put small hill of potatoes. Pour cream with garlic over the potatoes. Season with chopped onion's top or chives. Garnish with bacon rashers.

Tips:
- caraway seed are very good for your digestion, this food is little bit fatty,
- you have to use a small amount of oil in tin plate, we do not want to roast them,
- do not peel potatoes,
- if potatoes have same size then they are baked equally,
- this is good winter recipe because of the fat in bacon and cream,
Dobrú chuť
